Turn It In

Class: ___Block 2 English______________________________

Step 1

• Log in to the following site:   http://www.turnitin.com

• In the upper right hand corner of the screen, click on New User.    

• In the drop-down menu, select Student.   Click Next.

• Insert the Class ID #     ___2400037_______________ (created by Turnitin and supplied by your teacher)

• Insert the password:  _______cressey2_______________(supplied by your teacher)

• Click Next

• Enter your e-mail address.  Click Next

• Create a user password and confirm it.  Your password can be 4-12 characters, all lower case, and must contain a combination of letters and numerals.  Click Next.

• Fill in the information regarding the “secret question” and “answer.”   Click Next.

• Insert your First Name and Last Name.   Click Next.

• Read the User agreement and select “I agree.”

Step 2

Once you have created your profile, you can log in to Turnitin.   Your class will show up on your homepage. Click on the name of your class to open your class portfolio which will show assignments for the class and your submissions.

To submit a paper, click the submit button next to the paper’s assignment.  The paper submission page will open. Enter a title for your paper. To select a paper for submission, click the browse button and locate the paper on your computer. The following formats are acceptable:

• MS Word, WordPerfect, RTF, PDF, PostScript, HTML, and plain text (.txt)

Click submit to upload your paper.  After you confirm your submission, a digital receipt which will be emailed to you, will be shown. To return to your portfolio and view your submission, click the portfolio button.
