How to Thumbnail your
Pictures (FrontPage)
| Pictures add color and pizzazz to a webpage. If you have a lot of pictures to display, try using the Auto-Thumbnail feature in Microsoft FrontPage. This will allow you to display many pictures on a single page and yet keep your page neat, short, and organized. |
| 1. In Microsoft FrontPage, open a webpage and click on a place in the page where you want to insert a picture. |
| 2. Now go to insert a picture. You can either
use the button on the menu bar
|
| 3. Once you have inserted your picture, check to see if you have the pictures toolbar turned on. Go to View->Toolbars and see if a check box is next to Pictures; if it isn't checked, click on Pictures to turn it on. To move the toolbar out of the way so that you can continue, click on the Pictures heading and drag the toolbar to the bottom of your page so that it snaps into place. |
|
| 4. Go back to the picture and click on it once to select it. Go to the pictures toolbar at the bottom of the page and find the Auto Thumbnail button. Click the button and your picture will be thumbnailed. |
|
|
5. When you go to save your changes, and window will
pop up asking you where you want to save the thumbnail and your original
picture. I save my pictures in the images folder for
simplicity's sake. Use the Change Folder button at the bottom to
choose where you want to save the pictures.
|
| 6. Once you have saved you can then view the changes to your page. Now, your page loads faster with the smaller image and, if you want to see your picture in its original dimensions, simply click on the thumbnail. To return to your page, use your browser's Back button. |
