Science and Social Studies Themes

for

First Grade, Second and Third Grades

Please Note: The multiage classroom runs on a rotation of science and social studies themes covering all concepts in a developmentally appropriate manner.  In the 2008-09 school year, the multiage classroom studied the first grade science and social studies themes.  This also includes first grade field trips. The themes for this year are listed under first grade.

We are starting a new science program called Science Companions this year.  The main units for first grade are weather, collecting and examining life and solids, liquids and gas.  I am not sure of the exact time that these will be studied but I have put a rough estimate here.
