Ongoing Assessments -
The assessments
listed below will be used
throughout the year. Specific assessments
for a particular unit will be found on that
month's curriculum map.
Tests
and Quizzes . . .
Periodic teacher-made tests and quizzes will be given
during each unit
– questions will be tied to information covered in class,
notes in notebooks, and associated readings. Questions
will also be
connected to local MSAD #71 Standards and Maine State Learning Results.
Notebooks .
. . . . . .
Notebooks will be checked once or twice each quarter and
will be graded on completeness and organization.
Class and Lab Work . . .
. Work performed in class, participation in labs and
activities, and general conduct will be evaluated on a daily basis.
Reading
Assignments
. . . Occasional reading assignments will be made for
the Life Science textbook (at home) or the Earth Science textbook (in class).
There will often be a written assignment associated with the reading
assignment.
Specific assessments . . . During each
unit there will be specific products
assigned and there will also be occasional assessment portfolio pieces
