Fire Safety Month! Look for exciting visits to our classrooms from our local Kennebunkport Fire Department at Consolidated School!


Grades 3-4-5 will have a visit from the Portland Cromwell Center for disabilities awareness.



Mock Election 2008
Consolidated's students will be voting for their presidential choice at the end of this month. Watch for correspondence from Mrs. Pence and/or your classroom teacher for more information.


NWEA fall testing in the computer lab for grades 3, 4, and 5 are scheduled this month.

All students in grades 3, 4, and 5 must participate in the NWEA testing. Testing is typically done in the morning only, so it is critical that students are here on time. If a student is late and testing has begun they will need to participate in a scheduled makeup test.

 

Kindergarten will end Kid Keys and begin working in Bailey's Book House in the computer lab. We have started our study on the human body in science. Spanish with Seņora Kugler!  is exciting.  Adios!

 

First Grade  We work in the computer lab using the Every Day Math program.

We are using Ultra Key for a keyboard exercise each visit for keyboarding.

We have some exciting displays in the hallway of our field trip to Harris Farm - stop by and see!

Second Grade will visit the downtown bank, Ocean National and the Town Hall, as part of our study on economics and our community.

We're planning to visit our local Graves Library. Mrs. Vennell our Consolidated Librarian may accompany them on their walk to Graves.


We will read Frog and Toad by author Arnold Lobel (about this author). In science we will finish Living and Non-living and then begin to study the water cycle and rivers, the Kennebunk River especially!

 

Multi First/Second Grade are planning to visit our local Graves Library. Mrs. Vennell our Consolidated Librarian may accompany them on their walk to Graves.
We will be working in the computer lab on our theme related web hunts; Frog & Toad, the water cycle and rivers, and attributes. Keyboarding in Ultra Key.

 

Third Grade  ~Ready to Sail~
Ms. Chadburn's class will study Christopher Columbus for history.

We are reading Sarah Plain and Tall, by Patricia MacLachlan. This connects with the study of the Plains and Grasslands Biomes.

Chewonki visits the 3rd grade with a lesson on BATS!

This month, 3rd Grade will visit The Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk!

 

Multi Third/Fourth Grade 
Mrs. Humphrey's class will be reading Lost on a Mountain in Maine, by Donn Fendler.

We will go on our first field trip to The Emmon's Preserve, part of the incorporation of KCT (Kennebunkport Conservation Trust) properties in our curriculum!

Fourth Grade is working in the computer lab practicing their keyboarding with Ultra Key. We also explore new math games in EDMath Games grades 4 to 6!   We are finishing Lost on a Mountain in Maine, by Donn Fendler.

Fifth Grade will be visiting Old York in York Village this month. We will have our first excursion to Stage Island, part of the incorporation of KCT (Kennebunkport Conservation Trust) properties in our curriculum!
