This year's Field Day and Cookout is on Thursday, June 12th (rain date Friday the 13th).
This month K.C.S. will participate in the annual Book Give-Away on Friday June 6th, sponsored by Education Foundation's K.C.L.P. the Kennebunkport Children's Literacy Program. This program provides a specially selected new book for each student, Kindergarten through grade five. Many thanks to the Kennebunkport Children's Literacy Program for making this even possible!
Trust in Our Children Kennebunkport Consolidated School is working with KCT (Kennebunkport Conservation Trust) to find ways to incorporate their properties with our curriculum! Last May on our ERWednesday, staff from KCS visited the KCT and went on a trolley ride to many of their properties. It was just a beautiful day to have this outing and many ideas were shared. Thank you to Mr. Tom Bradbury, Executive Director, KCT Board of Trusties, for enabling this to happen! Kindergarten: We will go to the beach June 9th with MSK students! Finishing up in EDMath and our Science! June 17th is step-up day @ Consolidated K-4, so we will visit the 1st grade!
First Grade: First graders will be taking the ~Trolley to School~ or rather a "Trolley Ride" around the town of Kennebunkport! June 9th. On the Trolley we will drive past many of the historical buildings and places in town. We will host our "Author's Tea" for family and friends, on Tuesday the 10th and Wednesday the 11th. June 17th is step-up day @ Consolidated K-4, so we will visit the 2nd grade!	Second Grade and Multi: This month we will be wrapping up our study of Life Cycles in our Science Unit and finishing our EDMath Workbooks! June 17th is step-up day @ Consolidated K-4, so we will visit the 3rd grade! Mrs. Barrett's class Tidal Pool pictures made with KidPix! coming soon!

Third Grade: Third graders will enjoy a field trip north (June 12th) to Gray Maine and visit the Maine Wildlife Park. Our "Poetry Night" is scheduled for June 5th. And June 17th is step-up day @ Consolidated K-4, so we will visit the 4th grade!
Fourth Grade: We are finishing our year by completing the studies of immigration, Maine history, state regions, and our local Kennebunkport history. We are going to be walking to the Historical Kennebunkport Nott House, on June 10th. June 17th is step-up day @ Consolidated K-4, so we will visit the 5th grade!

Fifth Grade and Multi 4/5: In science we will finish up our Earth's Changing Surface" unit and in EDMath our last unit in our book! We will be studying the Westward Movement is Social Studies and use the Oregon Trail CD in the computer lab! Tuesday June 10th is Career Day initiated by Mrs. Abrams, Guidance Counselor @K.C.S. Mrs. Abrams has many special visitors scheduled to speak about their chosen profession. In some instances demonstrations in specific fields will be given. Fifth graders will travel to MSK for a visit to the grade six on Friday, June 13th! This is known as our "Step Up" visit. Also our field trip this month is to Strawbery Banke, in Portsmouth, NH. The 5th grade celebration is June 2nd! We will begin at Consolidated and then will travel to a *surprise location* - then back to Consolidated for Pizza and the famous 5th grade slide show!

Early Release Wednesday this month is June 11th.
Tuesday, June 17th, 1/2 day is the last student day. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 noon To ALL students . . . "Have a wonderful summer break!"
