Kindergarten will visit Graves Library.

We are finishing the program, Sammy Science House and will begin Dole-5-A-Day for a nutrition study in computer lab.

Local "celebrity readers" for the Read Across America Celebration.

We also prepare for a special visit from story book artist/illustrator, Scott Nash.  Friday March 28th.

 

First Grade will be presenting mammal reports this month as well as studying maple syrup production and take a trip to Harris Farm. They will study symmetry. 3D shapes, polygons, counting back by 2's from 100 and fairy tales!

March is nutrition month - we created the new food pyramid in computer lab, see our work here!

In the computer lab we create a paper on our Mammal = Click' Here!

Dr. Seuss celebration along with the Read Across America, 1st grade project!

 

Second Grade will begin their large Dinosaur project this month, which leads to a visit in April to the Boston Museum of Science!

Chewonki will come in with their showcase "Scales and Tales" for reptile study.

Sunday, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss's birthday and Monday, Mach 3rd is the kick-off of NEA's Read Across America Celebration!


Maine Educational Assessment = MEAs

Consolidated's third, fourth & fifth graders will be tested in March, with the MEAs.

Third grade will begin testing on Tuesday, March 4th, 2008. The following week, March 11th, both fourth and fifth grade will begin their testing. Make-up testing will be given the week of March  17th.

All students, grades 3-4-5 must participate in the MEA testing. Testing is typically done in the morning only, so it is critical that students are here on time. If a student is late and testing has begun they will need to participate in the scheduled makeup test.


Multi First/Second Grade will begin their large Dinosaur project this month, which leads to a visit in April to the Boston Museum of Science!

We study author/illustrator Dr. Seuss, whose birthday celebration is March 3rd.

Third Grade

This is "Women in History Month" and we will, amongst other projects, complete a web-hunt in computer lab.

We are finishing our Animal Report and then it is on to.... THE SOLAR SYSTEM in science!

In computer lab we will begin to look up information on the world's biomes. This information and corresponding pictures will be used in the creation of our Biome Brochure, using an Microsoft Publisher Template.

 

Fourth Grade will attend the a play, Freedom Train at the Merrill Auditorium in Portland this month. Transportation provided by the K.C.P.T.A.

We finalize our videos that we filmed in class last month and Miss Miller with Mrs. Blokland will splice them together into one movie!
These are Historical Fiction Reports made into a TV interview we named the History Channel. Once completed we will begin a new episode of the History Channel on Biographies!

 Students will be studying immigration and regions with Maine studies. We will begin to work with Microsoft Power Point software in the lab.

 

Fourth/Fifth Multi  are busy gathering data for their 2008 school speech.  This year's topic:  A Famous U.S. Landmark of your choice.

We begin a PowerPoint Presentation in the computer lab about Maine's Native American Tribes.

 

Fifth Graders are busy gathering data for their 2008 school speech.  This year's topic:  A Famous U.S. Landmark of your choice.

We begin a new book: Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis, in literature. In science we will study the topic ENERGY and in Social Studies we begin to study the U.S. Revolutionary War.
