February

The 100th day of school will be celebrated on Monday, February 11th, with projects held in individual classes.

Author of Schools Where Everyone Belongs, Stan Davis will be visiting with students from Consolidated, KES, and Sea Road on Tuesday, February 5th.
 

Kindergarten will use Every Day Math in our classrooms on the SmartBoard and in computer lab. We also will use the cd program Sammy's Science House in the lab!
We begin the month on Friday Feb. 1st graphing, using the groundhog... "Will he see his shadow?"
Classes will celebrate day one hundred, February 11th.
 This month's literacy focus is on sounds in words.
For Valentines Day on Feb. 14th, we will have a small class celebration.

Multi 1/2 and Second Grade

We have been studying the life of Martin Luther King and will now look at Antarctica and penguins. We have the 100th day celebration, study of presidents (Presidents' Day tie in) and Dr. Seuss - Read Across America.

After vacation we will prepare for the study of dinosaurs and fossils - a 2nd grade favorite!
We also prepare for a special visit from author Lynn Plourde date T-B-A.

 

Third Grade will study Black History  this month as they wrap up their study on the U.S. government.

In science we are placing the finishing touches on our Desert Habitat. Stop by and take a look at our gigantic cactus in the hall!

We are then reading the book Stone Fox and will check on the Iditarod.

Fourth Grade will be finishing up with the study of Maine, moon phases and planet rotation.  Check-out Miss Miller's online slide shows at her blog!
In math we have been exploring Microsoft's Mine Sweeper and Every Day Math games.
We will now go on to pick a planet to study for our report and create a presentation using Power Point in the computer lab!

 

  Multi Fourth/Fifth Grade 
Mr. Chapman's class are working on their speech and putting the finial touches on their "Famous U.S. Landmark" brochures. We begin to look westward at the Oregon Trail via computer lab!

 

Fifth Grade have been working on creative writing in the iMac lab and hope to post some "Online" soon! We begin to work on our speech this month "Famous U.S. Landmarks" and take a look westward at the Oregon Trail.

 

Early Release Wednesday is February 13th. Winter Vacation is the week of February 18th to the 22nd, 2008
