COMPARATIVE ACTING THROUGH FILM

1/2 CREDIT

This course is open to juniors and seniors. Actors to be studied will be selected by students at the start of the course. These actors will be chosen for their skill, reputation, and especially, their versatility. The class will watch and discuss their representative films and discover, through critical thinking, their particular techniques. After each film, students will write and discuss, gleaning common acting styles and techniques and principles to apply to the art/craft of acting. The final project will be to put the learning that was accomplished into words and actions.
