½ Credit

Ms. Hamel

Dance II offers students an opportunity to explore various methods of spontaneous and designed dance making while gaining a solid foundation in basic dance technique. This is a ballet-based class. Emphasis is placed on proper stretching, strengthening and relations techniques for dancers, athletes wishing to enhance their regular training program and anyone seeking a way to exercise via the medium of dance. Dance II utilizes various choreographic styles (ballet, modern, jazz, character and improvisation) and expands on the dance vocabulary established in the Level I class. History, kinesiology, nutrition, injury prevention and dance as it reflects social trends are also explored.
