 As the face of our landscape changes in May and our children move through the school system, so do the faces of KEPTA. At our May meeting, an election was held to fill three Executive Board positions: two vice presidents and one secretary. Congratulations to JoAnn Lapoint, who was elected as Vice President, Park Street; Judy Desrosher, Vice President, Cousens; and Grace Cain, Secretary. Linda Nowell will be assuming the position of Vice President for Sea Road. Alice Richard will fulfill her second year as President, and Susan Davis will stay on as Treasurer. We also wish to extend a round of applause and much gratitude for the dedication of Debbie Johnson, Vice President, Park St.; Sarah Downs, Vice President, Sea Rd.; and Mary Rice, Secretary as they complete their terms in these positions. |
 When Heidi Pare dreamed up the PTA Family Bingo Night, she and the other members of the PTA Events Committee had no idea how many people would attend. Maybe 50? 75? Try more than 200! On Friday evening, March 22nd, the Kennebunk High School Gymnasium was packed with children of all ages from our three elementary schools, along with siblings and parents. With standing room only, participants had great fun playing bingo, catching up with friends, and snacking on freshly made popcorn. Each child also received a new Scholastic Book, compliments of the PTA. Thank you, Heidi, for making this one of the best attended PTA events ever. And remember, it’s because of all of you — our parents, teachers and others who support PTA fundraisers — that make programs such as Bingo Night, concerts, special events and such educational programs as Reading Olympics possible. |
 During the PTA’s Parent Information Night, held Tuesday, May 14th, attendees had the opportunity to hear from two outstanding speakers who generously gave their time to talk about two important issues: eye safety and battling the homework blues. Thank you to Dr. Rob Rice, ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, and Karl Covert, Guidance Counselor of Park Street School, for their expert words of advice. >>> |
