Dragons and Imagination!
The fifth graders and Mr.Chapman's fourth grade students studied dragons throughout art and the word, from Asian robes to European mythology. Then we planned and sketched our own dragons that we would turn into a three dimensional sculpture. We learned about making a wire armature and then added newspaper and finally paper mache. When they were dry the children painted their dragons and added embellishments such as fire, wings and scales. Come see them on display in the hall by the office! What imaginations the students have!
