"I studied Balanchine ballet.

Balanchine ballet is a fast-paced technique

that was first created in 1930.

Ballet is so important to me.

If I lost ballet, I would be heartbroken.

I have danced since I was three; I now dance at

Maine State School of the Performing Arts.

Balanchine ballet is the overall

favorite to watch worldwide.

Ballet has the biggest impact on the performing arts.

It has been around since the early 1700's.

Ballet is like storytelling; it is a play without words.

There are so many things I learned about this project.

My three important ideas that I learned are

1. Balanchine ballet is all about speed and technique.

The founder wanted to create a different style.

He wanted to be different.

But in Russia where he came from, there was no choice about ballet.

It was how it was and if you didn't like it, you didn't do it.

That is why 1924 he came to the US to finish his career.

He could fit 12 moves in a 4-beat section.

Now that's amazing!"

2. G  B was the founder of NYC Ballet which is known all

over the world for its great techniques and performances.

It is the best dance school in America.

The last thing I would like to share with you is

that pointe shoes are pink because they are supposed to look like

your regular foot from afar.

I never knew that!..."
