SPECIALIZED DICTIONARY

TASK - Specialized Dictionary  - Create a specialized dictionary of at least 10 words from a field of interest (instant messenger, skiing, skateboarding, fashion, slang,  etc…) You may even create new jargon for a specialized field if you’d like. These are called "sniglets."

EXAMPLE:  "Household Terms"

BARCUUMING (bar’ kyoom ing) n. 1. the use of the family dog to remove crumbs that have dropped to the floor. v. to barcuum 2. to use the family dog to remove crumbs. "Will Rover or Spot do the barcuuming after supper tonight?"

             FIGFORCE (fig’ fors) n. 1. the mysterious magnetic force holding two or more Fig Newtons together. "The toddler was amazed at the power of the figforce in his cookies."

PROCEDURE: For each term’s entry, include the following items:

1. Your term or phrase underlined and in bold font

2. The pronunciation of your term

3. The part of speech the term usually is

4. The term’s definition, as clearly as you can, in formal English

5. A synonym for the word, if possible, in formal English

6. A sentence showing how the term can be used.

7. At least two illustrations
