GRADE 7 TEAM
STANDARDS
The following standards of performance have
been agreed upon by our seventh grade teachers for use with students in
their classrooms to enhance success.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
All work should be done neatly, must include the
student’s complete name, and must be turned in on time.
MATERIALS:
Assignment book/planner should be brought
daily to all classes. Other materials listed in the summer newsletter
must be on hand and should be brought to class as requested by the
specific subject teacher. Subject teachers will assess and document
student preparation for class daily. If the student is not prepared,
credit may be deducted from his/her grade.
DEADLINES:
Due Dates:
Students are expected to use their planners to record due dates. Major
work can generally be found on the team’s website.
Daily Work: All work
is due at the beginning of class. At the teacher's discretion, daily
work that is late may be turned in for 1/2 credit if passed in the next
day.
Major work assignments /long term projects:
Any long-term project or paper that is late will lose credit.
COPYING /
CHEATING:
The goal of all assignments is for each student
to demonstrate his/her understanding of the subject matter. If a student
is copying/cheating, his/her paper will be removed and the parent will
be contacted. The best grade possible for retaking a major test, paper
or project will be a C- (70). For daily work, the highest grade
possible will be 50%. This policy also applies to the person allowing
his/her paper to be copied.
ABSENCES:
After being absent from class, the student
is responsible for meeting with the subject area teacher to complete
missing assignments. In case of long-term or planned absences, parents
should contact their child’s teachers to arrange for make-up work. When
an assignment is due during an absence, the student must turn it in upon
his/her return to school. Tests and quizzes should be made up within 5
school days of the return to school. If not made up within 5 school
days, the grade becomes a zero.
