TASK:
After exploring the web sites on Alice Mead, use your
laptop write a letter to the author of Adem's Cross.
Be sure
to plan, revise, and type these letters as we will be mailing these
letters to her.
Work independently on this activity.
Answer each topic thoughtfully and thoroughly with textual references
to support your answers.

1. In your introductory paragraph introduce yourself and
tell Alice Mead what you liked about her book and what you found most
disturbing. Discuss examples of her literary style that you
enjoyed. (similes, metaphors, etc...)
2. In your second paragraph, discuss what you learned about cultural
differences and similarities with Kosovo and the USA.
3. In your third paragraph explain what you learned
about how children are affected by conflict in their world.
4. In your concluding paragraph, tell Alice how
the book opened your eyes or changed your perspective in some way.
Also, include three questions you would like to ask Alice Mead about her
novel.
5. Edit carefully for conventions
(grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization)
6. Finally, add a closing (ex. sincerely, your
